Polyjuice Part 2

Part 2 (unable to take screen shots at this time)

Step 1: Add 3 measures of boomslang skin to the cauldron. To do this pick up some boomslang skin from the jar with your mouse, it will automatically take 1 measure and drag it across to your cauldron and release to let it go in. Repeat until the counter says you have 3

Step 2: Add 1 measure of bicorn horn to the mortar. The bicorn horn is the powder, pick it up and drag across to your cauldron.

Step 3: Crush into a fine powder. Continuesly click on the pestle and a  meter will start to fill up, do this until the  meter reaches the point in between the 2 lines and it will also turn green (the meter will turn green not the potion) to show you've done it. Note> it’s easier and quicker to click on the actual mortar instead of the pestle.

Step 4: Add 1 measure of crushed bicorn horn to your cauldron. The crushed bicorn horn will be the grey powder form in your mortar, pick some up and drag it across to your cauldron, exactly the same as you did in step 2.

Step 5: Heat for 20 seconds. Click on the red button beneath your cauldron and this will make a meter come up with 2 lines. The red button will make the meter fill up at a fast rate, wait until it reaches in between the 2 lines, at this point a timer will appear. Then click the orange button which will still increase the meter but at a slower speed. BEFORE the meter goes above the 2 lines (which is where you must keep it between for the 20 seconds) click the blue button which will decrease the meter. Keep alternating between the orange and blue to increase and decrease the meter as necessary, keeping it between the 2 lines at all times. When the 20 second timer runs out click the blue button to turn off the heat otherwise you risk your cauldron exploding!

Step 6: Wave your wand and wait. To wave your wand just drag it wand (by the bag of standard ingredients to the bottom right of the table) and move it all over the cauldron to wave it. Sparks will indicate you're doing it properly, then let go of your wand to finish waving it. There's no time limit for how long you need to wave it for just as long as you stop waving before the purple hourglass timer empties.

... 18 - 24 LONG hours later...

Second stage.

Step 1: Add 1 scoop of lacewings to the cauldron. Lay the bottle down horizontaly on the table and grab a lacewing as they start falling out of the bottle then take it across to your cauldron and release it inside. See screenshot below to get a better understanding. If you pour it in the normal way by balancing the bottle on the edge of the cauldron you have a very high chance of accidently adding 2 as they come out way too fast and you only get a split second to pull the bottle away before you add more.

Step 2: Stir 3 times anti-clockwise. Anti- clockwise is in this direction <--  Grab the spoon and drag it in big circles, bigger than the cauldron itself until the counter says you've done it 3 times.

Step 3: Add the Slytherin hair to the cauldron. Pick up one piece of hair and drag it across to your cauldron then let go to release. You only need to do this once.

Step 4: Wave your wand to complete the potion.

Well done if you were successful :) if not don't get too mad that it only took 18 - 24 hours to brew

Polyjuice Part One

(Screenshots coming soon when I get around to it)

step 1: Add 3 measures of fluxweed to the cauldron. To do this pick up the fluxweed with your mouse, it will automatically take 1 measure and drag it across to your cauldron and release to let it go in. Repeat until the counter says you have 3

Step 2: Add to bundles of knotgrass to the cauldron. Exactly the same as step 1 but putting knotgrass in your cauldron this time and you only have to wait until your counter says 2

Step 3: Stir 3 times clockwise. Clockwise is this direction --> Grab the spoon and drag it in big circles, bigger than the cauldron itself until the counter says you've done it 3 times.

Step 4: Wave your wand and come back later. Now for the fun part, drag your wand (by the bag of standard ingredients to the bottom right of the table) and move it all over the cauldron to wave it. Sparks will indicate you're doing it properly, then let go of your wand to finish waving it. There's no time limit for how long you need to wave i for just as long as you stop waving before the purple hourglass timer empties.

Now you wait until it's ready for the next stage..

Stage Two.

Step 1: Add 4 leeches to the cauldron. Again, pick up a leech and drag it across to your cauldron then relese it. Repeat a further 3 times.

Step 2: Add 2 scoops of lacewings to the mortar. Balance the bottle on the edge of the cauldron as shown in the screenshot below and very slowly tilt it so the lacewings fall out. The further you tip the bottle downwards the faster they pour out and be warned they can come out very fast.

Sterp 4: Add 2 measures of crushed lacewings to the cauldron. The crushed lacewings will be the grey powder form in your mortar to pick some up and drag it across to your cauldron, exactly the same as you did for the other ingredients.

Step 5: Heat for 30 seconds. Click on the red button beneath your cauldron and this will make a meter come up with 2 lines. The red button will make the meter fill up at a fast rate, wait until it reaches in between the 2 lines, at this point a timer will appear. Then click the orange button which will still increase the meter but at a slower speed. BEFORE the meter goes above the 2 lines (which is where you must keep it between for the 30 seconds) click the blue button which will decrease the meter. Keep alternating between the orange and blue to increase and decrease the meter as necessary, keeping it between the 2 lines at all times. When the 30 second timer runs out click the blue button to turn off the heat otherwise you risk your cauldron exploding!

Step 6: Wave your wand.Just like before... drag your wand (by the bag of standard ingredients to the bottom right of the table) and move it all over the cauldron to wave it. Sparks will indicate you're doing it properly, then let go of your wand to finish waving it. There's no time limit for how long you need to wave i for just as long as you stop waving before the purple hourglass timer empties.

Sleeping draught

Sleeping draught

The sleeping draught gives out eleven points which is more than all the other potions but it's one of the hardest potions to brew and has a very tight time limit. This is also the longest potion to brew so it's great if you need to be elsewhere for a while. With a little bit of patience, luck and Ravenclaw wisdom you'll soon master this potion.

Ingredients: Flobberworm mucus, mistletoe lavender, Valerian sprigs (see "ingredients" for help on where to find them)

Pewter cauldron – 70 minutes
Brass cauldron – 60 minutes
Copper cauldron – 53 minutes

Instructions

Step 1: Add four sprigs of lavender to the mortar. To make this easier pick up the lavender by the flower end and hold it upright before putting it in

(Click on screen shots to view full size)

Step 2: Add two measures of standard ingredients to the mortar. To do this click and drag a piece of standard ingredient from the bag and release it over the mortar. Check the counter!

Step 3: Crush into a creamy paste using the pestle. Continusesly click on the pestle and a green meter will start to fill up, do this until the green meter reaches the point inbetween the 2 lines. Note> it’s easier and quicker to click on the actual mortar instead of the pestle.

Step 4: Add to blobs of flobberworm mucus to your cauldron. Balance the bottle on the edge of the cauldron for easier control. The more you tilt it the faster the blobs will come out and remember to keep an eye on the counter instead of counting yourself.

Step 5: Add two measures of standard ingredients to your cauldron. See step two but add to the cauldron this time. C.O.U.N.T.E.R

Step 6: Gently heat for 30 seconds. Keep alternating between the orange and blue to increase and decrease the meter as necessary. When the 30 second timer runs out click the blue button to turn off the heat otherwise you risk your cauldron exploding!

Step 7: Add three measures of your crushed ingredients to the cauldron. Click and drag three lots of the crushed mixture from the mortar and release it into the cauldron.

Step 8: Wave your wand. It’s by the bag of standard ingredients.

Leave your potion to brew for X amount of minutes. Now be patient and wait.

When the potion has finished brewing move onto the next steps.

Step 1: Add 2 measures of standard ingredients to the cauldron. To do this click and drag a piece of standard ingredient from the bag and release it over the cauldron. Check the counter!

Step 2: Heat on a high temperature for 60 seconds. Click on the red button beneath your cauldron and this will make a meter come up with 2 lines. The red button will make the meter fill up at a fast rate, wait until it reaches in between the 2 lines, at this point a timer will appear. Then click the orange button which will still increase the meter but at a slower speed. BEFORE the meter goes above the 2 lines (which is where you must keep it between for the 60 seconds) click the blue button which will decrease the meter. Keep alternating between the orange and blue to increase and decrease the meter as necessary. When the 60 second timer runs out click the blue button to turn off the heat otherwise you risk your cauldron exploding!

Step 3: Add four valerian sprigs to your cauldron. See step 1. Note> you can add the valerian sprigs at the same time as you’re heating the potion for 60 seconds to save time.

Step 4: Stir 7 times, clockwise. (à) Click and drag the spoon inside the cauldron and drag it around in circles’ 7 times. Note> you may find it easier to make big circles around the screen when doing this. Watch the counter to see when you've reached 7.

Step 5: Wave your wand.

If you made it this far and were successful then congratulations :)

Tips

TIPS

o   Read the instructions carefully and make sure you understand them before proceeding

o   Refresh the page if you make mistakes or you potion starts to smoke or turn green

o   Use the pewter cauldron if you will be going out or doing other stuff for a while

o   Keep an eye on the counter, some ingredients pour out faster that others

o   Your wand is the stick behind the bag of green standard ingredients to the right

o   Click and move your wand over the cauldron to wave it, let go of your wand to stop waving. You can wave it for as long or short time as you like.

o   Drag the spoon in huge circles to stir and it helps if the spoon touches both sides of the cauldron

o   The mortar is the bowl. You can click on this to crush instead of the pestle (stick) as it’s quicker

o   Alternate between the blue and orange buttons to keep the heat in range. If the heat meter's really small click the orange/blue buttons continuesly without stopping. Not blinking helps too.

o   In sleeping draught you can add the valerian sprigs to the cauldron then stir it 7 times at the same time as it’s heating for a minute to save time. Not recommended if you have trouble with heating.

o   In polyjuice part 2 when you have to add lacewings lay the bottle down on the table so the lacewings fall out then catch one before it hits the table and add to cauldron. Pouring them in the normal way will more then likely result in adding too many as they come out really fast.

o   Hold bottles/jars by the neck and balance against the edge of the cauldron or mortar for better control

o   Set an alarm so you don’t forget your potion when it’s brewing

o   Try and learn the steps by heart as time doesn’t stop to keep looking at instructions

o   Check that each step is crossed out before moving on if you’re not sure you completed said step

Antidote to common poisons

Antidote to common poisons

Antidote to common poisons is the fastest potion to make and gives you most points when brewing multiple times. E.g. A sleeping draught will give you  11 house points if brewed successfully but it takes 53 minutes (in copper cauldron) whereas the antidote will only give you 7 points  but it only takes 30 minutes (in copper cauldron) so in the time it takes you to brew one sleeping draught worth 11 points you could have almost brewed 2 successful antidotes giving you a total of 14 points. It may only be 3 extra points difference but they all count towards the house cup!

Ingredients: bezoar, mistletoe berries, unicorn horn (see "ingredients" for help on where to find them)

Pewter cauldron – 40 minutes
Brass cauldron – 34 minutes
Copper cauldron – 30 minutes

Instructions
Step 1: Add 1 bezoar to the mortar. Click on the bezoar and you’ll automatically pick up one piece which can then be put in the mortar.

Step 2: Crush into a very fine powder. Continusesly click on the pestle and a green bar will start to fill up, do this until the green bar reaches the point inbetween the 2 lines. Note> it’s easier and quicker to click on the actual mortar instead of the pestle.

(Click on screen shots to view full size)

Step 3: Add 4 measures of the crushed bezoar to your cauldron. Same as step 1 but you’re taking 4 lots of the crushed bezoar from the mortar this time not from the actual bezoar on the table. Watch the counter that shows how much you’ve put in.

Step 4: Add 2 measures of standard ingredients to your cauldron. See step 1 and don’t forget to watch the counter.

Step 5: Heat to a medium temperature for 5 seconds. Click on the red button beneath your cauldron and this will make a meter similar to the one when you were crushing the fangs come up, again with 2 lines. The red button will make the meter fill up at a fast rate, wait until it reaches inbetween the 2 lines, at this point a timer will appear. Then click the orange button which will still increase the meter but at a slower speed. BEFORE the meter goes above the 2 lines (which is where you must keep it between for the 5 seconds) click the blue button which will decrease the meter. Keep alternating between the orange and blue to increase and decrease the meter as necessary to keep it between the lines. When the 5 second timer runs out click the blue button to turn off the heat otherwise you risk your cauldron exploding!

Step 6: Wave your wand. Your wand is located behind the bag of standard ingredients click on it once and the wand will do the rest.

Leave your potion to brew for X amount of minutes. All you do now is wait.

When the potion has finished brewing move onto the next steps.

Step 1: Add 1 pinch of unicorn horn to your cauldron. Click on the unicorn horn and you’ll automatically pick up  one pinch which can then be put in the cauldron.

Step 2: Stir 2 times clockwise (à) Click and drag the spoon inside the cauldron and drag it around in circles’ 2 times. Note> you may find it easier to make big circles around the screen when doing this. Watch the counter to see when you've reached 2.

Step 3: Add 2 Mistletoe berries to your cauldron. Balance the jar on the edge of the cauldron for better control as seen below.

Step 4: Stir 2 times anti-clockwise (ß) Click and drag the spoon inside the cauldron and drag it around in circles’ 2 times. Note> you may find it easier to make big circles around the screen when doing this. Watch the counter to see when you've reached 2.

Step 5: Wave your wand to complete the potion. (I don’t recall wands ever being needed in potions “there will be no foolish wand waving in my class” –Snape)
Now have a victory dance you've done it :D

Cure for boils

Cure for boils

Cure for boils only gives you 3 points but it is a good potion to practise with and learn the basics until you feel more confident to move onto more complex potions.

Ingredients: Snakes fangs, horned slugs, porcupine quills (see “ingredients” for help on where to find them)

Pewter cauldron – 45 minutes
Brass cauldron – 39 minutes
Copper cauldron – 34 minutes

Instructions
Step 1: Add 6 snake fangs to the mortar. To do this simply click on the snake fang bag and drag them across to the mortar then let go to release them in. Each time you do this 3 snake fangs will be added so only do the process twice and watch the counter which will appear showing you how many went in.

(Click on screen shots to view full size)

Step 2: Crush into a fine powder using the pestle. Continusesly click on the pestle and a green meter will start to fill up, do this until the green meter  reaches the point inbetween the 2 lines. Note> it’s easier and quicker to click on the actual mortar instead of the pestle.

Step 3: Add 4 measures of the crushed fangs into your cauldron. Do this in the same way as step 1, don’t forget to watch the counter.

Step 4: Heat the mixture to 250 for 10 seconds. Ignore the “250” it’s pointless. Instead click on the red button beneath your cauldron and this will make a meter similar to the one when you were crushing the fangs come up, again with 2 lines. The red button will make the meter fill up at a fast rate, wait until it reaches in between the 2 lines, at this point a timer will appear. Then click the orange button which will still increase the meter but at a slower speed. BEFORE the meter goes above the 2 lines (which is where you must keep it between for the 10 seconds) click the blue button which will decrease the meter. Keep alternating between the orange and blue to increase and decrease the meter as necessary. When the 10 second timer runs out click the blue button to turn off the heat otherwise you risk your cauldron exploding!

Step 5: Wave your wand. No that doesn’t mean wave a stick you broke off a tree ;) Your wand is located behind the bag of standard ingredients click on it once and the wand will do the rest.

Step 6: Leave your potion to brew for X amount of minutes. This is the easiest step! All you have to do is wait. While you’re waiting you can duel to get even more points, post tips or answer/ask questions in the common room, start a food fight, do muggle stuff or better yet add me as a friend (WizardSun27762) and send me a rock cake as a gift... oh yes I love collecting them :)!!

When your potion has finished brewing move onto the next steps.

Step 1: Add 4 horned slugs to your cauldron. Again do this the same way as the snake fangs.

Step 2: Add 2 porcupine quills to your cauldron. You should know how to do this by now!

Step 3: Stir 5 times clockwise. Click and drag the spoon inside the cauldron and drag it around in circles’ 5 times. Note> you may find it easier to make big circles around the screen when doing this. Watch the counter to see when you’ve reached 5 and in case you’re unsure clockwise is in this direction à

Step 4: Wave your wand. Same as last time, click the wand which is behind the standard bag of ingredients and leave it to do the rest and feel free to mutter hocus pocus enchantments under your breath as I do ;)
If you made it this far then congratulations you’ve successfully brewed a potion and are ready to brew more!
